Personne ne saurait en \u00eatre priv\u00e9 en raison de sa nationalit\u00e9. Ce serait confondre des hommes et des femmes et le gouvernement de leur pays. Et ce serait m\u00e9conna\u00eetre les risques que prennent bon nombre d\u2019artistes russes, actuellement, pour affirmer leur refus de la guerre, ou leur refus du r\u00e9gime qui les contraint, parfois jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019enfermement carc\u00e9ral. D\u00e9missionner d\u2019une institution en Russie, comme l\u2019ont fait de nombreux responsables culturels, est un droit et un risque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evincer des artistes russes de nos institutions culturelles, boycotter leurs \u0153uvres, au seul motif qu\u2019ils sont russes, est une discrimination inacceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>_<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Observatory for creative freedom, which draws together some fifteen organizations to fight against the censorship of artistic works, states its full support for Ukrainian artists and is preparing an initiative to this end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are aware of requests to remove Russian artists from the institutions in which they collaborate and of requests to boycott the participation of Russian artists in concerts, festivals, theatres, etc. Certain Observatory member organizations have been contacted in this respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We wish to restate firmly the principles that unite us: the freedom to create and diffuse artistic works. No one should be deprived of this freedom solely because of his or her nationality. This would mean a lack of distinction between the individual members and the government of their country. And it would mean a lack of recognition of the risks currently taken by a large number of Russian artists when they state their rejection of the war or their rejection of the regime that constrains them, even to the point of jailing them. Resigning from an institution in Russia, as many cultural actors have done, is a right and a risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To oust Russian artists from our cultural institutions and to boycott their work,
